ED VALENTINE, writer, feels goofy when he’s writing bios in the third person. So… greetings! I’m Ed Valentine. My plays have been performed in New York and across the U.S. I’ve been a staff writer on Nickelodeon’s “The Fairly OddParents” and “T.U.F.F. Puppy,” and I’ve also written for “Sesame Street” and “Rekkit Rabbit.”

Along the way, I’ve been glad to find people who are into my work. My plays have twice won the "Best Full-Length Play in the Northeast" award from the Kennedy Center/American College Theater Festival and three consecutive Irv Zarkower Awards from Hunter College (2000-2003). I was named one of “50 Playwrights to Watch” in The Dramatist magazine, July ’07, and I’ve held both a Dramatists Guild Fellowship and a Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship. I have my BA from Boston College and my MFA in Dramatic Writing from the Tisch School of the Arts, NYU.

I’m a founding member of both the theater company En Avant Playwrights and also its puppet-and-object-theater offshoot, Cardium Mechanicum (www.cardium.org), which is now presenting fantastical and eclectic events on both coasts. I’m a proud member of the Dramatists Guild, the WGA, and the Animation Guild. I’m represented by the fine folks at the Gotham Group.

Please feel free to peruse some of my writing via the WRITING page on my website at www.edvalentine.com. Thank you for stopping by!
